The company, as part of its corporate social responsibility, has engaged in activities that enhance the livelihood of women within its operational district in the Awutu Senya West over the past three (3) years. The company formed smaller farmer groups, mainly women, in some selected communities and trained them on gari processing. This initiative has about two hundred women as beneficiaries, and the trickling effects cover not less than one hundred households in the Awutu Bawjiase and its environs. The women are supported with subsidized farm inputs, payment for the cost of land and plowing, and technical assistance to cultivate the cassava by themselves.
Apart from the gari processing, the women are also able to process the cassava into cassava paste, which is a key ingredient in one of the stable foods in Ghana called Banku.
